Put AfterCut on your phone

There's nothing to download. AfterCut runs in the browser you already have — add it to your home screen once and it opens full screen with its own icon, exactly like an app from a store.

Add it to your home screen

Do this once on every phone that takes job photos — yours and each of your crew's.

iPhone

USING SAFARI

  1. Open app.aftercutai.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add. The AfterCut icon is on your home screen — open it from there from now on.

It has to be Safari. Add to Home Screen isn't offered in every browser on iPhone. If you don't see it, you're probably in a different browser or inside a link that opened in another app.

Android

USING CHROME

  1. Open app.aftercutai.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the three dots in the top right corner.
  3. Tap Install app — some phones call it Add to Home screen.
  4. Tap Install. The AfterCut icon is on your home screen.

Chrome may offer first. A bar sometimes slides up asking to install AfterCut as soon as you open it. Tapping that does the same thing — you're done.

Why there's no app store download

It's not a shortcut we took — it's genuinely better for a crew in the field.

Nothing to keep updated

Improvements show up the next time you open it. No store updates to install, no crew stuck three versions back on the one phone nobody updates.

New phone, 20 seconds

Someone starts Monday, or a phone gets replaced? Open the address, add to home screen, pair with a code. No store account, no download, no waiting on Wi-Fi.

Works in a dead zone

Photos save to the phone the instant you take them and upload on their own once you have signal. Losing bars doesn't lose the job.

Questions about getting it installed

Why isn't AfterCut in the App Store or Google Play?

AfterCut runs in your phone's browser, so there's nothing to download and no store approval to wait on. Adding it to your home screen gives you the same thing — an icon you tap to open it full screen. Updates arrive on their own; there's no version to keep chasing.

Does my crew each need to install it?

Yes, on each phone that takes photos — it's the same 20-second process. On the Crew and Business plans your crew doesn't create accounts: you pair each phone once with a short code, and they just shoot photos.

Does it work without cell signal on a job site?

Yes. Photos are saved on the phone the instant you take them and upload on their own once you have signal again, so nothing is lost in a dead zone.

Is there a Windows or Mac version?

AfterCut opens in any desktop browser at app.aftercutai.com — handy for reviewing jobs and sending before-and-afters from the office. The photo capture itself is built for a phone, since that's what's with you on the job.

Ready when you are

Open it on the phone you shoot with, and add it to your home screen.
